I came to the UK with ’right of abode’, it wasn’t until a 2 years later I realized that I was eligable for citizenship all along, so I registered.
Now as a result my American husband is able to apply for his naturalization after 3 years since he’s married to a UK citizen vs the 5 years you have to wait as a resident.
This has nothing to do with becoming a UK citizen but it does show that we can’t see into the future and if it’a available to you and you have the right to it, it makes sense.

I am a UK law student studying at one of UK's most reputable universities (equivalent to one the UK's Ivy League if they had one).
I believe that CA and NY are relatively liberal in admitting UK grads, and I believe that a few of the other states are even more liberal, while a few states do not work well with foreign degrees at all.
Because Canadian law is more similar to US than UK law, I can see spending your first couple of years in Canada, then getting a US LLM, and then getting a job with a US firm as a possibility.
