Filming on Rush Hour 3 will start next summer in the US and in France — since the movie is taking on such timely topics as French people being snobby — with the picture being a major part of New Line’s 2007 slate.
If Tucker had just come back for Rush Hour 3 earlier when he was supposed to, Ratner would never have had the time to try to introduce mutant hookers to the film franchise.
Tucker’s deal includes a fourth film, by the way, so fans hoping that the complex themes and stories of the Rush Hour trilogy would all be completed here may have to wait even longer to find out the true feelings Lee has for Carter.

On the great commentary track from Film Historian Tom Weaver, he explains that Lewton was entirely unsure about Karloff's abilities for the first of their collaborations - Bedlam.
Bedlam's most distinctive feature is the small scene of Karloff and his "white dove" in the bottom right hand corner, bringing the right amount of malice into the one-sheet of insanity.
Bedlam, on the other hand, suffers from the same fate, that of being a good aural soundtrack for your system.

 Cat People Jacques Tourneur 1942
Cat People may have lost some of its edge over the years and what remains may be a bit tarnished, but it is infinitely better than Paul Schrader& 1982 remake.

filmcritic.com Movie Review: Cat People (1942)
Moody and intense, the film is hardly a gore-fest, and the body count is minimal.
Part of the Val Lewton Horror Collection, including the following: Cat People, The Curse of the Cat People, I Walked with a Zombie, The Body Snatcher, Isle of the Dead, Bedlam, The Leopard Man, The Ghost Ship, The Seventh Victim, and Shadows in the Dark, a documentary about Lewton.
Long before Nastassja Kinski went catty on us in 1982's Cat People, this Val Lewton original subtly scared the bejesus out of people with its tale of a woman (Simone Simon) who believes she suffers from a curse that can cause her to turn into a panther.

But after these two seminal works, which completely transcended their status as B-films, the series began deteriorating on an almost film-by-film basis, ending with the tedious historical romp of 'Bedlam' (1946), in which the infamous British mental asylum seems less threatening than an average off-hour New York City subway ride.
James Agee, the premier American film critic of the 1940s, reckoned that Val Lewton was one of the three foremost creative figures in Hollywood--an assessment yet more impressive when we consider that the other two were Charles Chaplin and Walt Disney.

 Psychiatric hospital - KnowledgeIsFun.com
The first known psychiatric hospital, Bethlem Royal Hospital (Bedlam) was founded in London in 1247 and by 1403 had begun accepting "lunatics." It soon became (in)famous for its harsh treatment of the insane, and in the 18th century would allow visitors to pay a penny to observe their patients as a form of "freak show".
Awakenings, a 1990 fact-based film which tells the story of a doctor (played by Robin Williams) who in 1969 discovers beneficial effects of the then-new drug L-Dopa on patients who are comatose after surviving the 1917-1928 epidemic of encephalitis lethargica.
One other type of psychiatric hospital is designed for long-term care: a combination hospital and prison for the "criminally insane": typically, people with a psychotic illness or personality disorder who have committed serious crimes.

"Girl, Interrupted," the sensitive, well-acted film based on Susanna Kaysen's 1993 memoir about her youthful sojourn in a mental asylum in the late '60s, paints the psychiatric ward as, in some respects, more like the average college dormitory than the hellhole depicted in Fred Wiseman's notorious 1967 documentary about a Massachusetts sanatorium.
Not to be flip, but Claymoore, the exclusive Massachusetts hospital in which most of the action of "Girl, Interrupted" is set, is not the drooling bedlam portrayed in fictional features like "The Snake Pit" and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," either.
"Girl, Interrupted" is set in a psychiatric hospital, but the therapeutic relationships (with compassionate if occasionally clueless staff doctors played by Jeffrey Tambor and Vanessa Redgrave) are not the relationships that get the spotlight.
