  The Bedworth Society
It was founded in 1981 to petition for the preservation of the Parsonage which forms part of the Bedworth Almshouses, the society becoming a registered charity in 1997.
The society was established for the public benefit of an area comprising of Bedworth, Bulkington, Exhall and the parts of Keresley not in Coventry.
The Bedworth Society are members of The Nuneaton and Bedworth Heritage Forum, North Warwickshire Tourist Association and The Association of Small Museums.

Bedworth developed as an industrial town in the 18th and 19th centuries, due largely to coal mining and the overspill of ribbon weaving and textile industries from nearby Coventry.
Bedworth is situated to the immediate north of the M6 motorway at junction 3, and is served by a rail line between Nuneaton and Coventry.
Bedworth is pronounced 'Bed-uth' by residents of the town and by most Coventrians and Nunetonians, though the common 'Bed-worth' pronunciation is used virtually everywhere else.

However objections to this by Bedworth residents lead to it being re-named 'Nuneaton and Bedworth' in 1980.
Nuneaton had gained the status of a municipal borough in 1907, and Bedworth had gained the status of an urban district in 1928.

Bedworth’s most beautiful building is the breathtaking 1840 Nicholas Chamberlaine Almshouses on All Saint’s Square in the town centre.
Bedworth is mentioned in the Doomsday Book as a small farming community.
Amazingly, in Bedworth the almshouse provision set up in response to this situation in the 17th century is still run as a charitable service today.

Bedworth is in the Kirby division of Knightlow hundred, about 3 miles south of Nuneaton : the area of the parish is 2,240 acres : the population, in 1831, was 3,980, a very small part of which was agricultural.
There are coal-pits and stone-quarries near the village, which, in 1831, gave employment to 180 men : more than 300 men were at that time engaged in manufactures, but of what kind is not stated in the population returns.

Bedworth Brass will be kicking off their 2006 concert season with their ninth annual concert at The Civic Hall in Bedworth on Friday 12 May 2006.
Bedworth Brass are delighted to report that after a three year absence they returned to their home town at the beginning of September 2005 and will now be permanently based at Nicholas Chamberlaine Technology College in Bedworth.
The invitation to return to Bedworth, rehearsing in a purpose built acoustic with the opportunity to involve brass students at the school in the future of the band was, however, too good to turn down.

Football in Ashford was started around 1880 and pre-dates the formation of "Town" by over fifty years with Ashford United being the leading side of their day winning the Kent Senior Cup in 1893 and a year later becoming founder members of the Kent League.
The first Bedworth Town football club is believed to have been formed in 1895 when several matches were played against other local teams.
In their first season as Bedworth Town in 1905/6 they were relegated back to the Second Division, but an interesting incident had taken place earlier in the season when, after beating Hawkesbury, the Bedworth players were presented with silk handkerchiefs by Mr W. Harvey
