After the successful release of 'First Under The Wire', BEEB BIRTLES and GRAEHAM GOBLE had composed so many songs that had not been used by LRB and were very keen to be put out as a duo.
ZOOT were the early experience of BEEB BIRTLES, occasionally backing for a young British singer in their early years: JOHNNY FARNHAM.
The reappearance of BIRTLES SHORROCK GOBLE in Australia was not only documented on CD, but on a DVD with the same title which was filmed during their shows July 18th and 19th, 2003 at The Forum Theatre, Melbourne.

When they met, Goble played the new LP to Beeb, and he was knocked out by what he heard; Goble in turn was greatly impressed by Birtles' ability.
Beeb bought a new bass and auditioned with the group, but The lineup was completed by an unknown bassist who was soon replaced by Colin Deleuca (ex-Fugitives), and finally a drummer, Derek Pellici.
According to Birtles, the band was disappointed by the lack of support in Australia, and encouraged by interest in the album, which had been released overseas, they decided to try their luck elsewhere and left for a tour of the UK in April that year.

The Little River Band name came to life, according to Beeb Birtles' website, as he and Shorrock were travelling to a gig in Geelong.
Goble said that he, Shorrock and Birtles were disappointed, "but we have had a lot disappointments in our career and we have risen to the occasion".

Well, this year a judge in Melbourne said Birtles, Shorrock and Goble could not use the name the Little River Band and that a strange group, happily performing all the old hits, headed by English guitarist Stephen Housden and comprising Wayne Nelson, Greg Hind, Kevin Murphy and Glenn Reither, could.
In fairness to Housden and his crew, it was LRB manager Glenn Wheatley and Goble who signed away the rights to the name.
Birtles Shorrock Goble will perform at the Enmore Theatre on Thursday at 8pm.
