Beechcraft Baron - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Beechcraft Baron is a light-medium twin-engine piston aircraft originally developed by Beech Aircraft Corporation and currently manufactured by the Beechcraft Division of Raytheon Aircraft.
The Baron is a variant of the Beechcraft Bonanza, and was first introduced in 1961.
The progenitor of the Baron was the Beechcraft 95 Travel Air, which incorporated the fuselage of the Bonanza and the tail control surfaces of the T-34 Mentor military trainer.

 DreamFleet - Baron 58 Home
Your Baron proved ideal, and when I made the real flight the next day my comfort level was much higher, especially with the approach in relatively poor weather.
If you step inside a Baron, and do not notice the dual throttles and engine gauges, you might think you are in a Beech A36, or vice-versa; that is how similar (in most cases identical) they are on the inside.
Finally, when Beech introduced the stretched-fuselage A36, the Baron followed along, and the Baron 58 was born.

FlightSim.Com Review: DreamFleet Beechcraft Baron 58
FS2004 comes complete with a Baron, but as regular readers will appreciate, it isn't quite up to the standard of what the best FS developers are capable of delivering, which means it is nowhere near as good as the new DreamFleet Baron 58.
The original Baron 55 appeared in 1961, replacing the Model 95 Travel Air; it was developed with the intention of allowing the company to compete on a level playing field with Cessna's 310 and the Piper Aztec.
If you like the Baron - which you will - take a look at the Bonanza review, because they make a great pair and the Bonanza is one of the best GA singles ever released for FS.

 Airliners.net: Raytheon Beechcraft Baron
Development of the Baron began in the late 1950s, the first to fly, the Model 9555 on February 29 1960, essentially being a reengined development of the Model 95 Travel Air (Beech's first light twin, which first flew in August 1956).
As a result the Baron can lay claim to Bonanza and T34 Mentor lineage, as the Travel Air combined the fuselage of the former with the tail of the latter, plus twin engines, a new wing and other new features.
The first Barons were delivered during early 1961, although these early production examples were soon followed off the line in 1962 by the improved A55.
