Beer goggles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Beer goggles is a slang term for a phenomenon in which consumption of alcohol lowers sexual inhibitions to the point that very little or no discretion is used when approaching or choosing sexual partners.
The "beer goggles" are considered to have distorted the "wearer's" vision, making physically unattractive people appear beautiful.
Some police departments have literal beer goggles, which distort vision to an approximation of drunkenness.

In April, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention uncorked such a howler--headlined "Gonorrhea Rates Decline With Higher Beer Tax"--that even The Washington Post was moved to question the conclusions.
The CDC claimed recent history showed that cases of the clap declined when beer prices went up.
So, reasoned the government's wonks, "a 20-cent state tax increase per six-pack of beer could reduce U.S. gonorrhea rates by almost 9 per cent." The Post had the good sense to ask David Murray of the Statistical Assessment Service, a non-profit think tank in D.C., about the study.

The Rundown | Student Living - Beer goggles explained at last
'Beer goggles', as if you didn't know, explain why the hideously ugly person you just woke up with looked far more attractive the previous night after you drank excessive amounts of alcohol.
Now researchers at Manchester University — who may or may not wear goggles all of their own — have worked out that alcohol isn't the only thing that comes into play when you're deciding how attractive someone is after a few drinks.
Unfortunately the research doesn't cover what happens when beer goggles are worn backwards: you might feel embarrassed vomiting on someone's doorstep after a heavy night, but do you actually look more attractive than normal to passers-by?
