The Beggars Group is currently home to the labels 4AD, XL Recordings, Mantra, Too Pure, Wiiija and Mo'Wax as well as Beggars Banquet, and one of the country's largest indie groups.
As part of the agreement, Beggars in New York will move from its Soho offices, which it has now outgrown, across the road into Matador's larger Noho offices, and the Beggars Group will be substantially enlarged through the transfer of a number of Matador staff and functions from the label into the group.

This rarely dissuades the beggar, and the constitutionality of such bans are questionable; in addition, their ethics have been questioned.
For instance in India it is considered dharma to give alms to a beggar and many sadhus also beg strictly for food as their traditional way of life limits any income.
Beggars rarely recorded their techniques, and often used Thieves' cant to disguise their own communication.

The inclusion of The Cult’s “She Sells Sanctuary” is confusing, though forgivable; an unreleased track by Epitaph hip-hoppers Atmosphere isn’t as easy to overlook.

Rolling Stones Beggars Banquet Albums, CDs, Vinyl Records and LPs
Released to clamoring applause in 1968, Beggars Banquet did as much for the Stones' sleazoid-satanism image as it did for their blues roots credibility.
Packed from top to bottom with some of their best songs, the record is a good place to start with the band as there is little here that is less than genius, from "Sympathy For The Devil" to "Salt Of The Earth."
In typical Rolling Stones fashion, various other hitches arose regarding "Beggars Banquet." The album's original cover art, depicting a bathroom wall covered with graffiti, was banned.

It's almost twenty five years since Beggars Banquet unleashed its first 7" single, the three chord buzzsaw rush of The Lurkers' "Shadow/Love Story".
They've been at the forefront of every major change in distribution for independent record labels, from deals with majors to helping to establish a truly independent distribution network, and on to today when they are seizing the opportunities and changes brought about by the increasing influence of the World Wide Web.
Where hundreds have failed, Beggars has continued to grow proving in the process that an independent doesn't have to adopt the same values as a major in order to succeed.

In late 1978, Beggars Banquet released Tubeway Army's self-titled debut, mixing Electronic music with post-Punk guitar and solid, no-frills drumming by Numan's uncle Jess Lidyard.
Numan recorded the follow-up, "Replicas," in three days at Gooseberry Studios in London, utilizing a stark synthetic sound for most of the tracks.

These qualities were already in evidence in the pop-punk of early Tubeway Army, who signed to Beggars Banquet Records in 1977.
By the time Tubeway Army trod the boards of punk clubs like The Vortex and The Roxy most of the initial idealism of the movement had long since vanished but very few people were ready to own up to the fact.
The only other member of the band was Gary's best friend Paul Gardiner (who died of a heroin overdose in 1984) but their record label refused to let Numan take on solo status just yet.
