  Beginish - Biography
Beginish first came together in 1996 (under the name Samhain) with a series of performances throughout Ireland that spawned overwhelming pubic interest and a string of television appearances.
This potent ensemble, which gathers together in one place some of the most significant musical talent in Ireland today, draws on the combined successes of its members both as solo artists and as members of Ireland's most important groups of the last 30 years.
Their debut CD, Beginish, was released in February 1998.

Their first CD Beginish was released in 1998 and they have hopes of releasing their second album in time to introduce to American audiences on their upcoming U.S. tour.

Brendan Begley, who is the vocalist and accordionist with the band, is from Baile na Boc in the West Kerry Gaeltacht (Gaelic speaking area).

Police have confirmed they are investigating the killing of about five adults and 30 pups.

Inishtooskert (99 ha, 162 m), Inishnabro (51 ha, 175 m), Inishvickillane (81 ha, 138 m) and Tearaght Island (27 ha, 184 m) are located between approximately 7 km and 12 l@-m from the mainland and, Ue Great Blasket, rise steeply from the sea.
In contrast, Beginish is a small, low lying island (1 5 ha, 14 m) and lies within 2 km of the mainland.
This extreme southwestern maritime site has high conservation value owing to the occurrence of several habitats listed on Annex 1 of the EU Habitats Directive (reefs, marine caves, dry heath), the large population of Grey Seals (Annex H Habitats Directive species), and in particular the breeding seabird populations.
