	Beitou - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Beitou District (Chinese: 北投區; pinyin: běitóuqū; Wade-Giles: Pei-t'ou ch'u; Tongyong Pinyin: Beitou; Taiwanese POJ: Pak-tâu-khu) is the northernmost of the twelve districts of Taipei City.
		Between 1920 and 1941, Beitou was a village (北投庄) in Qixing District (七星郡), Taipei Prefecture (台北州).
		Beginning in 1949, Beitou and Shilin were admistered by the newly-formed Yangminshan Administrative Bureau.

		The weather outside was brilliant, and I didn't relish the thought of languishing in my room for the rest of the day, so I went out on my balcony, opened the window, and looked to see where I wanted to go.
		As night falls upper Beitou becomes not a little spooky, as there are many old abandoned Japanese-style houses covered with decades of jungle-like vegetation lying in the darkness just out of the reach of the streetlights.
		I decided it was time to go back, but instead of taking the MRT at the New Beitou station, I set off along the winding concrete path built underneath the elevated line back to the Beitou station.

		It has department stores, Eslite bookstore(taiwanese leading bookstore) & Warner Village theater, 2 super markets,baseball stadium etc. if you are into baseball, it’s quite cheap to watch in taipei, watcing the game facing the mountain & hills is quite unique.
		In taipei, only Tien Mu, BeiTou, Tamsui area has good living standard, other area would be like NY,HK..too busy & crowded & noisy during night, cos Taipei famous with the night life.
		If you have free time, just jump into MRT in 15 mins you can reach Tamsui, that’s the place I live….beautiful.

		I thought I had found a good deal in Beitou, but then I discovered that when the wind came from a certain direction, the place was flooded with the smell from the Macdonald's downstairs.

		We had gone away overnight to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had left our 2 year old to spend the night at his Taiwanese "grandparents'" house.

		From Jiantan MRT Station, Bus Red 5 leaves for the park every 15 minutes.
		Mini-bus number 19 departs Beitou for Judz-hu (refer to 'see' section below) every hour.
