		The regional parliaments are elected every five years, and their elections coincide with those for the European Parliament.
		Elections for the members of Belgium's municipal and provincial councils are held every six.
		The next municipal and provincial elections in 2006 and the next general election will be in 2007, the next regional elections are expected in 2009.

	Belgian Union - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		In the center of Europe, it consists of 3 large language groups: Dutch speaking Belgians or Flemings (north Belgians, about 59% of the population), French speaking Belgians or Walloons (south Belgians, about 40% of the population), and German speaking Belgians (East Belgians, about 1% of the population).
		The Belgian Union is a centrist party for reconciliation between the language groups, promoting multilingualism, and 1 government and 1 parliament for all Belgians without the division by language (which they consider as racist as a division by skin colour).

		As a general rule of thumb, when two non-government organisations, the French foreign minister, Dominique de Villepin, the BBC and the New York Times agree that the whole powder keg's about to go up, it's a safe bet that things are going swimmingly.
		There are generally a couple of large blocks plus a compound and maybe a fancy house with elaborate decorative stonework with their doors and gates hanging off the hinges and the odd goat or donkey defecating over the interior: these are the Ba'athist buildings, and they're the sole target of highly focused looting.

		Belgian voters returned Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt's Liberal-Socialist coalition to office for another four years in a weekend election in which the far-right made a record showing.

		Residents in 201 of Belgium's 589 municipalities will be able to cast their vote electronically at the upcoming parliamentary elections in May. Given that some of the country's largest cities are included in the 201 administrations in question, 44% of the Belgian electorate will be voting electronically.
		This percentage is the same as for previous elections.
		The status quo is attributed to the Federal authorities' failure to come to a decision on whether to increase the number of electronic voting booths or not in the intervening period.
