Belisce has been in the wood processing business since 1884 and, for the last 36 years, has produced and sold packaging paper and corrugated products.
Belisce will be able to broaden its product range by introducing new grades of packaging paper, such as, wastepaper-based fluting, testliner and new types of packaging products.

Croatia's largest cardboard packaging manufacturer, Belisce, extended its takeover bid for the leading Slovenian packaging producer Valkarton by one week until 18 March, raising the offered price by one Slovenian tolar to SIT 7,528.44 (EUR 33,69) per share, the company said on Monday, 4 March.
According to Belisce's general director assistant Jandre Romic, the bid was raised in order to extend the offer while waiting for the approval of the Slovenian Competition Protection Office.
Romic expressed expectations that the anti-trust office would approve of the Belisce's offer, as it is not about a classical takeover, but rather a merger of two companies that have not yet consolidated on the market.

Valkarton, which has enjoyed long-term business ties with Belisce, believes that a change in ownership structure is a logical consequence that will benefit the company's development and future, as Valkarton can only be successful if it is part of a larger group, Slovenia Business Week reported.
Belisce generated net annual revenues of some 80m Euros last year, 55 per cent of which were made on foreign markets.

According to a report issued by Osijek-Baranja county police, a suspect, Marko Varsic, shot Matija Ljubek and then left for Belisce where he also shot Ante Bungic to death and wounded his wife Katica.
The suspect was found between Valpovo and Belisce and taken to police station in Valpovo.
According to information the police have to date gathered, the suspect was a brother-in-law of the killed men, and a family conflict seems to have been the motive for the murder.
