Bell, Book And Candle - Music from the Movies
Harkit Records continue to mine the retrograde treasure trove of 1960s film music with this provocative George Duning score that was one of the delights of the period.
This CD is a straight reissue of the original Colpix soundtrack LP, with one additional track (a vocal from French actor Philippe Clay, who appears as a ‘Parisian witch’ in a cabaret act in the film).
In Bell, Book and Candle, Duning coats the film with a pleasing polish of melodic gloss and enough toe-tapping riffs to enhance the stagy drama of the production, which is really all the film needed.
