Bell Records was the name of at least four different record companies in the 20th century.
After Stanard Music Roll got out of the disc record business in 1923, the label was continued by the Bell Record Corporation of Newark, New Jersey, using masters recorded by Emerson Records.

The Bell label and it's subsidiary labels were purchased by Columbia-Screen Gems in the late sixties, but Uttal remained part owner and President of the company until he sold his interest in 1974.
Some of the last album issues on Bell have the designation "Bell Records, Distributed by Arista Records, 1776 Broadway, New York, New York 10019." At the end of 1974, the Bell/Mala/Amy labels were scrapped and the artists either let go or taken over by Arista.

Bell died in his daughter's home in Oakland on February 13, 1927.

AVERILL PARK M.E. The bell on the right is a 700-pound bell purchased in 1840 from the (Andrew) A. Meneely Bell Co. of West Troy (Watervliet) for the First Presbyterian Church of Sand Lake.
The bell is still in the belfry and is a Jones Foundry Co. bell, which weighs 600 pounds and was purchased in 1865.
On June 27, 1883, a 104-pound bell was purchased from the Clinton H. Meneely Bell Co. for $36.00.

UK based JSP Records continued their release of blues albums in SACD Surround Sound this week with two new albums arriving in U.S. music stores.
Big Blues was recorded in June 1981 at The Point Studio in London by producer John Stedman and engineer Alex Burak.
JSP Records says that Carey Bell is "arguably the finest harmonica player currently active" and notes that "if you want a blues harp man of depth, creativity and tone then Carey Bell is the first call you're going to make." His son Lurrie Bell plays guitar and provides vocals on the album.
