Finch's firm also helped plan the University of North Carolina's ``Dean Dome' and the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y. Finch had a role in building Atlanta landmarks, including the First Atlanta Bank tower, the Georgia Power building, the BellSouth tower and Coca-Cola headquarters.
Finch was a decorated veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and he served 37 years in the Marine Reserves, retiring as a colonel.

In 1957 the building was renovated with gold leaf from the mines at Dahlonaga, Georgia (the site of the first gold rush in America).
After visiting the capitol and taking some pictures, I realized that it was a 2 tone building, so I just duplicated the main block again and used some texture from the actual building to get the right tones and texture.
The building started to exceed my 64 megs of memory when I finished the lower dome, so my computer was using drive space for memory by the time the building was done.
