The title track is a fabulous melodic song, but the rest are more in the percussive, tribal mode, with exotic instrumentation.
I love the gasba (a type of low-pitched flute) on many of the tracks, and Bellamou Messaoud's trumpet on "Hak Hak", "Osman", and "Khalouhom".
Also included is a lot of ululation, a sound I find thrilling.

Cheikha Rimitti was the first star, the best known of the "shaabi musicians" who became the soundtrack of Algeria's independence war.
In the 1960s, trumpet player Bellamou Messaoud coined a westernized form of rai, replete with elements of flamenco, blues, rock, jazz and funk, arranged with guitars, saxophone and accordion.
He replaced wahrani's qasbah flute with the trumpet.
