Dido class cruiser - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Dido class was a class of sixteen (including the Bellona sub-class) light cruisers built for the Royal Navy.
The class were intended to be armed with ten 5.25 inch (133 mm) guns in five twin turrets, but a shortage of the guns, due to difficulties in manufacturing them, led to the first group being armed with eight 5.25 inch guns in four twin turrets.
Bellona, Black Prince and Royalist were loaned to the Royal New Zealand Navy post-World War II.

Sturgeon class submarine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Sturgeon-class (colloquially in Navy circles, the 637 class) attack submarine (SSN) were the "work horses" of the submarine attack fleet throughout much of the Cold War.
They were phased out in the 1990s and early 21st century in favor of the Los Angeles and Virginia classes.
Beginning with Archerfish (SSN-678) units of this class had a 10-foot longer hull, giving them more living and working space than previous submarines.

Appendix - The Russian Northern Fleet
The Permit class of attack submarines was followed by the Sturgeon class, which also used the S5W reactor.[623] The noise from these submarines was reduced in comparison to the Permit-submarines, but its top speed was only about 25 knots.
In the succeeding class, the missile tubes were expanded to accommodate the newly developed Polaris A3 missiles, and the class would later also carry the Poseidon C3 and the Trident C4.
Much effort was expended in reducing the noise of the submarine.[639] The Trafalgar class has a maximum speed of 32 knots,[640] and at present, there are seven vessels in active service.

The first of these was the Dublin class ship, which at 1550 tons was a bit too small to be as stable as was necessary for such a heavily armed ship.

Dorothy Sayers and Peter Wimsey: George Grella
To begin with, they are permeated with what could be termed class hatred or class contempt, if it were not simply so casual and ordinary a thing, without any perceptible malice aforethought.
These men, who are much criticized for their cowardice, pretentiousness, and revolutionary designs, may represent the genuine fears of the upper classes about the future of their England; perhaps Peter's easy victories over them are more of the wishful thinking of the fantasy world.
Similarly, and surprisingly in a writer and scholar of Miss Sayers' obvious and remarkable learning and ability, the author demonstrates imperviousness or outright hostility to the experimentalism and progress that mark the modem period, which may be the most richly creative era since the Renaissance.
