Chief Ronald J. Blanchette announced that the Belmont Police Department conducted a rapid deployment drill at 1 PM today at the Belmont Hill School.
The exercise was intended to provide training for officers in the practical difficulties found in responding to a critical incident and to test for strengths and weaknesses in the department’s ability to handle such situations.
He explained that, following some of the public criticism of the police response to some school shootings, police training is changing to require more from regular patrol officers.

The article on the grading system at the Belmont Hill school struck home with my sister and me, because we both attend (or attended) Belmont Hill's sister academy, The Winsor School, in Boston.
It's even possible that students at Winsor are graded harder than those at Belmont Hill.
I was shocked to learn that B and C students from the Belmont Hill School had to look at "schools like Vanderbilt, Emory, the University of Chicago, and other institutions no one at Belmont Hill would have considered in earlier years." Heavens, what's the world coming to?

The 1998 Belmont Hill Sailing Team consisted of 14 sailors from Massachusetts.
Primarily sophomores, the team finished 15th at the National High School Fleet Racing Championships held at the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut.
