The Scots (this is from the name given to them by the Romans, 'Scotti') were a Gaelic-speaking tribe from N.E.Ireland who settled in the west of Alba (the Gaelic name for Scotland).

Regent Film Professor Lorene Wales won the Juried Screening Judges Award at the 2004 University Film and Video Association for her film "On the Edge," about two Tanzanian soldiers, one of who, is plagued by AIDS.
Wales produced the film in conjunction with a study grant Dr. Bill Brown and Dr. Ben Fraser received.
Ben Carson, Regent University trustee, has received the Mark O. Hatfield Award for demonstrating uncommon leadership that reflects the values of Christian higher education.
