Red Line Distribution - Ben Weasel
Ben Weasel: Last show I didn't play that I went to was probably MTX in '99 or 2000.
Ben Weasel: There was no money in it so you did it because you hated the shit on the radio and wanted to make something different and hopefully better.
Ben Weasel: "Anthem For A New Tomorrow" maybe isn't my favorite, though I like it a lot, but it's memorable because it was the first record that I conceived in its entirety before the band had ever heard a note of it.

 Screeching Weasel - Emo
While the lead-singers of bands that enjoy a cult status similar in magnitude to that of Screeching Weasel are usually idolized and adored by their fans, Ben Weasel is accordingly regarded pretty much as a complete asshole by pretty much everyone.
Ben Weasel's vilification is perhaps best seen in the contrast between himself and the other member of Screeching Weasel's only discernable core, Jughead.
It was clear that Ben Weasel's focus was all fucked up, the record seemed to have been put together just for the sake of it and that if he continued down this line, things were going to get pretty damn messy.

Screeching Weasel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Screeching Weasel along with Green Day inspired countless teenagers around the world to start punk rock bands in the 1990's and played a major part in influencing many of the bands that helped bring punk rock or more descriptively pop punk into popular music culture.
As an example, in the 1999 song Tightrope, Weasel launched a rather pointed attack on the glorification of violence and chauvinism by what he termed "tough-guy, so-called working class or street punk bands." Later, punk band Rancid referred briefly to this song in the liner notes of their 2003 album, Indestructible.
In 2004 Ben Weasel rescinded all of the Screeching Weasel and Riverdales masters from Lookout!

 Ink 19 :: Punk is a Four-Letter Word
Ben Weasel, leader of seminal power-punk bands Screeching Weasel and The Riverdales, and former columnist for Maximumrocknroll, apparently has been writing for some time now.
Weasel's writing shines when describing unusual situations he's been in, including him being cast as an extra in Ministry's "New World Order" video, and thoroughly enjoying his work as a librarian's aide while living in Wisconsin.
Weasel's discovery that "The Nanny is running the show" is indicative of his ability to get people to talk, and the dynamics of the Cobain family ("The Nanny and the Rock Star").

BEN: John and I talked about doing it a few years ago but Lookout wasn't interested so we sort of forgot about it.
BEN: I brought a lot of that on myself years ago, but as for people who are unaware of that, I don't know.
BEN: I'm absolutely shocked that we were ever able to carve out a little niche for ourselves and earn a living from doing the band.

Weasel Manor: (Self) Rejected Liner Notes
They weren’t influenced by Screeching Weasel any more than they were influenced by the junkie or the crybaby mentioned above - in fact, I’d be shocked to learn that they’d ever even heard those bands prior to around their own third record.
To the extent that Blink-182 may have been influenced by Screeching Weasel, the debt, if any, was paid in full when they covered one of our songs on their first album.
To the extent that anyone else was influenced by Screeching Weasel, they don’t owe us anything anyway, not that it wouldn't be dandy if they were to cover us.

Ben Weasel - Fitadevi - Review - Stylus Magazine
Ben was the best songwriter around, improving with every album he recorded with Screeching Weasel, continuing exactly as he had started despite the rotten criticism he was receiving from all sides.
Since then, Ben has become something of a hermit, living in his apartment, and stunning friends of mine by periodically showing up at Starbucks and Border’s (I don’t know if what they’re telling me is true.

Punknews.org | Ben Weasel on Donkey Punch Radio, talks about "Weasel Mania"
Ben recently presided over the track selection for the upcoming Weasel Mania greatest hits collection which is due out October 4th.
Ben is surely intent on making his presence known, or should I say "inflicting his tired persona on the neopunk scene?" Weasel is a one trick pony, and that trick -- while cute enough at first -- is far beyond tired and trite at this point.
Weasel is like a little kid who learned a"knock-knock" joke, told it once or twice for a few bemused giggles from theadults in the room, and then decided to repeat the same joke 40 times more, making all the adults in the room wish for legalized, retroactive abortion.

 Ben Weasel: Fidatevi Aversion.com Review
When Screeching Weasel called it a day (again) last year there was few lamentations to come from the mouths of anything but the most die-hard fans.
While singer Ben Weasel doesn’t descend completely into the world of Ramones-ripoffs of his former outfit, he doesn’t break too far from the expectations that come with his adopted surname.
Although his vocal abilities are non-existent, a problem that Fidatevi can’t ever overcome, Weasel does his best to make up for a complete lack of a voice with enthusiasm.

Ben Weasel -- “Fidatevi” (printable version)
The music on Ben Weasel’s solo debut fits in well with his Screeching Weasel work: fast punk and pop melodies sung with shaky conviction.
It’s the lyrics that are quite different, as Weasel gets serious about much bigger issues than the state of punk and his love life.
It’s to his credit that Weasel can write “Water and Waves,” a song that’s like a simple instruction manual for mediation, and make it fit into his style without reeking of pretentiousness.

 Lookout Records - Screeching Weasel
Their set, which included future favorites like, "I Hate Led Zepplin," was played with Ben Weasel, the singer, sitting on the edge of the stage most of the time looking bored.
In between songs, Ben seemed to be arguing with himself about who were the bigger idiots that night: the small group of people standing there blinking dumbly, or the band itself for bothering to play at all.
At their Epicenter Zone show, Ben stripped for "I Wanna Be Naked" and French-kissed me during their version of PATSY CLINE?s "I Fall To Pieces." My Brain Hurts, the album cut during their Bay Area stay, was Lookout!?s first non-California release.

LIKE HELL by Ben Foster aka Ben Weasel of Screeching Weasel
Written through the eyes of frontman Joe Pagan, we witness as the band starts out as an unknown punk band to reaching semi-stardom as the Pagan Icons capitalize on the popularity of punk rock during the mid to late 1990’s.
Although Ben has stated that his book is a work of fiction, there are some striking similarities between himself and Joe, as well as Pagan Icons and Screeching Weasel.
Joe writes for a punk fanzine called Punk Bible and is fired after supposedly becoming a “sellout.” Ben use to write for Maximum Rock-n-Roll and was dismissed after The Riverdales (Screeching Weasel side project) opened for Green Day.
