Baron Baltimore, of Baltimore in County Longford, is an extinct title in the Peerage of Ireland.
The title was held by several members of the Calvert family who were the proprietors of the Province of Avalon in Newfoundland and the Province of Maryland, later the U.S. state of Maryland.
In the context of United States history, the name Lord Baltimore usually refers to Cæcilius Calvert, 2nd Baron Baltimore after whom the city of Baltimore, Maryland is named.

All the properties of Lord Baltimore were confiscated by the State of Maryland and this particular tract was sold at auction in 1785, an interesting footnote to the whole mistaken premise of Cora regarding the Chenoweths and Gunpowder Manor.

THE January VETERAN contained quite a thorough account of the Confederate cause in Maryland with reference to the Confederate Soldiers' Home at Pikeville, a small village eight miles from Baltimore, which is reached by splendid driving roads and by electric cars.
From the beginning, at Harper's Ferry, in 1861, to the end at Appomattox in 1865, "they maintained the same high character and bearing, and the record of their deeds is held in veneration and affection." All honor to Maryland Confederates.
Charles Marshall of Baltimore, delivered an address in that city January 19th, the birthday of Gen. Lee, in which he described graphically the great surrender at Appomattox.
