The Ugandan politician Benedicto Kagima Mugumba Kiwanuka (1922-1972) was one of the early leaders in the independence movement of Uganda and led the country in the transition stage between colonial British rule and independence.
Benedicto Kiwanuka was born in May of 1922 in Kisabwa in the Buganda kingdom of Uganda, the son of a minor but wealthy Roman Catholic Buganda chief.
Kiwanuka received his early education in mission schools, and his career must be seen in relation to a continuing relationship with the Catholic groups of Uganda.

In 1962 Kiwanuka was rigged out of office by the British for he was too principled to accept being just a neo-colonial puppet, like Obote who kept these same British (and Israelis) not only in charge of 'his' army but the country, as a result.
If Kiwanuka was alive in 1979 after the overthrow of Idi Amin the history of our country would not be speaking of Lule, Muwanga, OboteII etc....
In conclusion, to determine who really killed our beloved Benedicto Kiwanuka, lets not fall for the easy explanation that it was Idi Amin, but we also have to critically and principally look at British Imperialism and Obote!!
