The Registrar Paul Bengo said yesterday that in his opinion, there were no grounds for the referral, but he is seeking further legal advice.

Caxito, 10/03 - At least 19,600 children below five years old were immunised against polio in Bengo province, during the first phase of the third vaccination journey, carried out from 30 September to October 2nd, throughout the country.
Addressing Angop, the provincial supervisor of the Widen Vaccination Programme (PAV), Eduardo Adriano, said that the data are referring to the first and second day of the campaign in the districts of Dande, Dembos, Pango-Aluquem, Quissama, Icolo and Bengo and Bula-Atumba, remaining only the municipalities of Nambuangongo and Ambriz.
In northern Bengo province, the PAV expected to vaccinate in this first phase of the campaign around 72,032 children below five years old, besides the taking of a dose of vitamin "A".

As of 22 April 2006, 731 new cholera cases were reported in Luanda, Benguela, Bengo, Huambo, Kwanza Norte, Malange and Namibe provinces with overall case fatality rate of approximately 5%.
Luanda city, which recorded the first case of cholera, is known for its appalling living conditions characterised by mud huts and corrugated iron structures perched on piles of rubbish.
The International Federation regional delegation through the disaster response task force is now deploying additional support staff to collaborate and support Angola Red Cross Society efforts in implementing the response activities as the outbreak is spreading to other regions.

Caxito, 03/20 - The Brazilian delegation, which is in Angola since March 17 will visit Caxito city in the Northern Bengo Province on Friday to learn more on its economic and productive potential, a note says.
According to a document delivered to ANGOP, the Brazilians will visit the Mabubas dam, the Acude tourist area, the wood sawing firm in Sassa-povoacao plus the agricultural perimeter of "Herois de Caxito" sugar factory.
