		Laney, born at Cooterneck in Ouachita County in 1896, was one of eleven children.
		Laney faced another challenge in the 1947 session in the form of the self-styled "economic bloc," a group of fiscal conservatives from rural districts who tended to oppose any measure which did not directly benefit their constituents.
		Laney joined the forces opposed to federal civil rights legislation and figured prominently in the third party movement known as the "Dixiecrats," serving for a time as their chairman.

		I think Travis, Owen, Ian, Miles (please don't girlify it by inserting a Y in the middle!) are all strong names, too.
		Travis or Miles would be good solid options; Oscar or Wyatt would be the least conventional picks.
		Ryan, Evan and COllin (is this misspelled purposely?) are the opposite of edgy--my mind's eye sees a mama's boy ripe for the bullying of school kids...same with Travis, Owen, Myles (another apparent misspelling), and Ian.
