The traditional laurel of Karl Benz was added along with his name to complete the new logo.
It was in 1998-when Daimler-Benz and Chrysler agreed to combine their businesses—(known as the "merger of equals") that created the DaimlerChrysler AG company that we know today.
The Benz racecar is described as a teardrop shape and it was introduced to motorsport in the 1923 European Grand Prix at Monza.
