I took it to the local Beretta factory and after getting it back I have been able to shoot the center of any targets at 100 yds with no problem and this is with the iron sights.

Review: The Beretta 21A is a very well made pistol,they have actually gone up in value, I paid $100 a few years ago,last I checked they were $190-200.I put around 500 rounds threw it, no malfunctions of any kind,it fits easily in most blue jean pocket, conceals well,its a little thick in the butt.
Beretta has component part available to customize your Neos with colored grips and different length barrels and sight options, however I cannot find any of these for sale anywhere (local or on the web).
The Beretta shot them with no problem so when the chance to buy one at a great discount came about through the Police dept that I was working with in 1985 I jumped on it.

I like the beretta a lot but the M9 service pistol is definitly a poor example due to the abuse they have been through.
Then I was in the gunshop again, saw a Beretta Storm carbine in person (I had been drooling over the magazine ads for a few months), and after messing with it for a bit I decided to buy it.
Sold the Beretta because of all the horror stories of 9mm failures (we are talking 20 years ago).

By the way, if you are a pistol collector, Beretta has just come out with their 470 Annaversary Model 92 pistol.
Departments that I have heard that carry the Beretta model 92 or 96 are the: LAPD, LA County Sheriff's Department, San Francisco Police Department, Indiana State Police, New Orleans Police Department, Maryland State Police, Pennsylvania State Police, Washington State Patrol, some Departments in Texas.
I have not heard about many departments that carry a Beretta Cougar, someone once told me that the Rochester Police Department carried them (this is information by a gun store owner) but I do not believe that they are still or ever have.

While that may not sound great for a fully tricked out 1911 or Ruger MK II, this is an out-of-the-box duty pistol, and that's an impressive group for 15 rounds, at least in the humble opinion of the author.

The Beretta is not a bad pistol, I have a 92FS that I bought when my Department allowed us to carry semi-auto.
I had a Jarvis barrel with a bushing on the end of the barrel put on my Beretta, tightened up the accuracy quite a bit, that bad boy came back with the new barrel and the slide was tight just like a real gun.
If the 92 Berettas appeal to you and feel comfortable, go for it...personally, I found it too chunky and the grip does not fit my hand.

Hi, I am looking at the walther 99,sw 99 or the beretta 96, in either.40 or.45 (the 96 is only a.40 I know) which one which cal and the pros and cons of each.
I carried a Beretta 92FS 9mm for over two and a half years and I would trade my duty SIG 229 in 40 cal. for a Beretta.
I am not sure what size Beretta you are looking for but the Beretta Brigadier or the Elite II are very nice.

Ernest doesn't recommend the competition trigger for duty or carry, as light strikes may occur, but I've had 7000+ rounds through the pistol at the time of this writing and never had a single problem.
Berettas are set up to 'drive the dots', in other words, hold the front sight over the bullseye.

Skunk and all you Beretta experts, is it possible to have the "G" version decocker on any Beretta other than the Elite.
The fact is the Beretta fans can't even keep the polymer tidbits from encroaching upon their weapons, resulting in plastic over metal triggers, ugly fl plastic safety paddles on stainless slides, and a very cheesy looking recoil spring guide rod that folks routinely replace.
If Beretta ever finds a way to interest itself in the civilian handgun market and offer a plethora of interesting and thin handguns while still maintaining their generally reasonable prices and legendary reliability, they are going to be a very interesting player once again.

I notice that the Beretta web site is a little thin on info on the various models...
I can pick some, but not all, of the features in one Beretta pistol.
