		Bernard was born in Saint Etienne (in central France) on October 7th 1946.
		Bernard soon decided his future in Saint Etienne was looking decidedly grey and uninteresting and, at the age of 19, he packed his bags and set off for Brazil.
		Lavilliers kicked off an extensive acoustic tour at the end of the year, but unfortunately the leg scheduled for 1999 was cancelled and fans had to make do with a handful of concerts the singer gave in the summer of '99.
