Commonly known as 'The Bolton Bullfrog', you will frequently find Bernard surfacing at concerts, festivals, clubs, dinners, ceilidhs, and on the many albums he has recorded, with his humorous songs and captivating stories.People who haven't seen him on stage may recognise him from his numerous TV appearances - generally doing more acting than singing.
What began as an urge to play the guitar at school developed into a liking for traditional folk music and then back into a love of playing all kinds of music - as his varied albums demonstrate.
I'm sure most people will agree that Bernard's next appearance in The Street is well overdue...

BernardWrigley was born in 1948 and attended Thornleigh Grammar School in Bolton.
After leaving school, he spent 2 years working in the Customs & Excise before turning professional at the Octagon Theatre as half of "Dave & Bernard." He started his solo act(s) at the beginning of 1970.

BernardWrigley’s face is well known in virtually every household in Britain, due to his many TV appearances including Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Wood and Walters and Dinner Ladies.

I've got a limited edition 7-inch 33rpm EP that was recorded at BoltonOctagon Theatre around 1970 - the very minimal labels were hand written by BernardWrigley, who is also on the EP with Dave Brooks.

He is going to let me have a CD with Dave's set on it, which is good news.
Singer, songwriter, comedian and actor BernardWrigley has also been performing and making records since the 1970s.
Bernard has written several songs which have been performed and sung by The Fivepenny Piece, including Molly Kershaw and Buggerlugs Loves Sugarbutty; and Bernard later joined The Fivepenny Piece for a period during the 1990s.
Also includes such gems as Leslie Sarony's Piddlin' Pete and lyrics/monologues made famous by Gracie Fields, Al Read, Bob Williamson, Mike Harding and BernardWrigley.
