Jansch graduated to a real studio for his second album, It Don't Bother Me. That LP featured some contributions from guitarist John Renbourn, and the pair would record a joint effort in the mid-'60s as well, Bert and John.
Soon Jansch and Renbourn would be playing together as part of a five-member group, Pentangle, one of the greatest folk acts of the 1960s.
Jansch's increasing involvement (and eventual commercial success) with Pentangle did not mean an end to his solo career, although Pentangle got first priority in the late '60s and early '70s.

Bert Jansch - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bert Jansch was born in Glasgow in 1943, but brought up in Edinburgh, where he attended Pennywell Primary School and Ainsley Park Secondary School.

Jansch pronounces his surname "Jansh," although his name is often mispronounced as "Yansh." The name is of Norwegian origin, and, given that, should be pronouced "Yan-ch" - the pronunciation adopted by Bert's middle son, Kieron Jansch.

 George Graham Reviews Bert Jansch
While Jansch's guitar work gave the Pentangle much of its distinctive sound, he was also the group's most prolific songwriter and played a large role in the selection and arrangements of the traditional material the group recorded.
Jansch gets the most intentionally bluesy on Born with the Blues, which is another interesting contrast between his ornate guitar style, the blues influence filtered through a traditional English folk perspective, and Jansch's vocals which sound like low-down in some ancient misty castles.
Bert Jansch is one of the pioneers is what has become a very durable style, and this album is an excellent reminder of why this kind of music has stood the test of time so well.

However, it was not until Jansch moved to London that he was granted the wider exposure that soon gave him the opportunity to record his brilliant eponymous 1965 debut (recorded on a tape player in the kitchen of his London flat).
Jansch's first solo attempt, featuring classics like 'Do You Hear Me Now', (later covered by Donovan), 'Needle Of Death', and a cover of Davey Graham's 'Angie', has become a milestone of British folk that has arguably never been surpassed.
The album, named after his girlfriend at the time, gave Jansch (usually the lone wolf) his first taste of creating music as a member of a greater whole, and in some ways must have led to his decision to leave his solo career behind for his new group, Pentangle.
