Bertha Leyendecker, a pioneer resident of the West End of Clallam County, passed away Monday night after a long illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Bertha Leyendecker was born at Tribben, Germany, near Berlin on Oct 12, 1862 and passed away on June 17 after a lingering illness.

The following list of insect parasitoids of the bertha armyworm was compiled from a review of the literature with the addition of new records obtained through rearings by Peter Mason (names marked with an asterisk).
There are relatively few papers on the parasitoids of the bertha armyworm because the insect did not become a major pest until rapeseed and canola became significant crops on the prairies.
The bertha armyworm, Mamestra configurata (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), mortality of immature stages on the rape crop, 1972-1975.

Martha (nicknamed "Patsy", was mentioned in a deed of gift by her father John L. Langford, on 31 Dec. 1819, in Tattnall County, Georgia.
We don't know the names of his parents yet; however, he named his firstborn son John, and it was customary to name the first son after the paternal grandfather.
This indicates John L. Langford's father's name could also have been John.

 Tachinids of bertha armyworm, Phryxe
Phryxe pecosensis (Townsend): One specimen reared from bertha armyworm collected from Dauphin, Manitoba on 18 August 1979 (UMW).
Their parasitism of bertha armyworm is apparently rare.
Phryxe vulgaris is also present in the Palearctic region where it has been recorded from many hosts including Mamestra brassicae (Turnock 1984).
