I think it has a very traditional closing schedule and might be closed through August 31st -- but Berthillon ice cream is available at other locations, including on the Ile Saint Louis.
If Berthillon on Ile St Louis is closed go to Amorino for gelato.
Amorino is great (better than anything we get here in the states) but it's hard to compare it to Berthillon.

I'm not familiar with Dammana, but I've always considered Berthillon to be very good for France.
I have only tasted Berthillon's product a few times, but have not been particularly impressed with it.
As far as I'm concerned, it's Berthillon for fruit based sorbets and Dammann's for ice creams.
