 Joe Klotz Garners AFI Film Festival Best Film Editing Award
El Segundo, CA --Nov. 2--The Best Film Editing Award at the 13th Annual American Film Institute Los Angeles International Film Festival, sponsored by Trakker Technologies with support from Discreet, was presented to Joe Klotz for the film Snow Days at a gala event October 28 in Los Angeles.
Silver is a master's graduate of the film editing school at AFI and a film editor with several titles to his credit, including the Sundance-award winning Fun, Nonnie & Alex (which won at Sundance and Aspen), and Man of the Year.
During his acceptance of the Best Film Editing Award, writer and producer Kipp Marcus praised the work of Klotz, asserting that the editor's timing in a comedy film is critical in the film's success.

Nominated for the Academy Award for Best Sound, Murch has distinct memories of this movie: 'For me it had all the uncertainty of a first film because it was the first one where I both edited and designed the sound.
In restoring Touch of Evil (1958), one of the greatest film noir thrillers and yet another Welles film that suffered from studio interference (to the point where Welles was barred from the lot and the movie was finished by another hand), Murch again combined sound and vision.
It is generally held that film making has moved away from the old mag recorder methods but Murch says that it is still relatively new for him.
