  Bethany Theological Seminary
In spite of continuing opposition to higher education, the Van Buren street campus of Bethany Biblical Seminary was garnered by the Church of the Brethren in 1925.
Bethany is the denominational school for ministerial candidates and was founded by the coordinated efforts of Albert Cassel and Emmanuel Hoff.
In 1992 the Bethany Board approved the relocation of the Seminary to Richmond, Indiana for affiliation with the Earlham School of Religion and in partnership with the congregations of the Church of the Brethren.
