		Although he had played in various Birmingham-based bands since his teen years, Bev Bevan's first professional gig was with soon-to-be-Moody Bluesman Denny Laine in Denny and the Diplomats.
		Bevan occupied the Electric Light Drumstool until 1982, when he had to sit out a tour due to illness; following his recovery, he served as the replacement for another ailing drummer, sitting in for Bill Ward during Black Sabbath's Born Again period.
		In 1985 Bev Bevan resumed his role in ELO, which had risen to position of considerable popularity in its decade of existence (and had fallen victim to some of the ridiculous excesses made possible by such popularity), but was now in a decline due to personnel and business-related problems.

	Bev Bevan
		Bev, who had never been abroad before, took the change, but he soon had to realise that he was going nowhere once again, as this live job wasn't easy - the band had to do seven 45-minute shows starting at 7 pm - with only a 15-minute break between each show!
		Bev was involved in both bands - The Move and their latest, experimental project The Electric Light Orchestra which co-existed for quite a while.
		On ELO's "Time" tour Bev Bevan had to be replaced on drums by Peter "Pete" King, the drummer of their support act After The Fire, for fourteen gigs in February/March 1982, as Bev had been flown to a British hospital because of kidney stones.

		The most famous track, however, is "Brontosaurus," which takes the Move's quirky production strategy of mixing the bass upfront completely over the top, with the bass guitar crushing with the lumbering stomp of the ancient reptile; certainly an odd method of tackling heavy metal boogie, but not unworthy of Led Zeppelin.
		As Bevan points out, they realized in retrospect that they should have released the B-side, "Omnibus," as the A-side; it's clearly superior, with all the elements of a classic pop smash, even if (or because?) it's a blatant Hollies imitation.
		Fans of '60s Brit-pop should definitely check this collection out; the Move were a great singles band, and most of their best are contained here.
