Beverly Eaves Perdue is the current lieutenant governor of the U.S. state of North Carolina.
Born in Grundy, Virginia, Perdue earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky; she then earned a master's degree in education and a doctoral degree in administration from the University of Florida.
Perdue, a Democrat, served in the North Carolina House of Representatives from 1986 to 1990, and the North Carolina Senate from 1990 to 2000.
