SYDNEY - LoveToKnow Article on SYDNEY
The whole district between Sydney and Parramatta on each side of the railway is practically one continuous town, the more fashionable suburbs lying on the east of the city while the business extension is to the westward and the southern quarters are largely devoted to manufacturing.
SYDNEY, the chief town of Cape Breton county, Nova Scotia, on a good harbour, the eastern terminus of the Intercolonial railway.
The climate of Sydney is mild and equable; in summer sea breezes blow from the north-east, which, while they temper the heat, make the air exceedingly humid; in winter the winds blow from the west and the climate is dry and bracing.

Bexley Hall (MIT) - Encyclopedia Glossary Meaning Explanation Bexley Hall (MIT)
Bexley was among the first MIT dormitories to be coed, despite the best efforts of the administration, and the only dormitory to have its House cat serve as dorm chairman (all the more remarkable in that cats were not then allowed in MIT dormitories).
As former apartments, Bexley rooms have two major advantages over other most dormitories: full kitchens, permitting residents to opt out of the dormitory cafeteria plan, and the lowest students-per-toilet ratio of all dormitories.
Traditionally the home of a distinctive anarchic and free-spirited subculture, even by MIT standards, Bexley Hall has long been a thorn in the side of the MIT administration; nevertheless, the hacks, pranks, and other assorted goings-on in Bexley have always been in the best MIT traditions, more creative and technologically innovative than mean-spirited or destructive.

The railway, opened in the 1930's and duplicated in the 1990's, is a major exception.
Several years later and the M5 East has been built from Beverley Hills to the airport, including a 5 km tunnel from Bexley North to Kyeemagh.
At the top end of the valley there is an off-road cycleway, outside the noise barriers of the M5, connecting west over the ridge to Riverwood and east down the Wolli Valley as far as Bexley North.

You can start with a walk down the hill to the railway station, which houses the Mount Victoria and District Historical Society Museum, a wonderland of rarities (open Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, 2-5pm, entry is $3/children 50 cents).
Just up the hill are a couple of other cafes, antique dealers, bookshops and a superb shop called Trains, Planes & Automobiles (26 Station Street, 4787 1590) which claims, with some justification, to be "probably the world's best antique toy shop" (dolls excepted).
Located 120 kilometres from Sydney, Mount Victoria is the last major settlement before the Blue Mountains road tumbles down the escarpment to Hartley and Hartley Vale.

If the railway is built without provision for the station, it may be prohibitively expensive to revive the station later.
Design work on the station stopped on about 22 February and adjustment to the line is thought to be taking place in stead of the station.
The station was included only as a condition, to be built if education authorities demonstrate demand.
