Baja Govindam, as enumerated by Kausalya Rajan, is the original work of Adhi Sankaracharya.
Kannadasan, has no knowledge of Samskrit, and when he was invited by the producer of the film Adi Sankara, (Malayalam) to write that film's songs, he was repeatedly hearing the slokas of Baja Govindam in Samskrit.
With a little help from learned people, he could assimilate the meanings of the slokas, and it is those outpourings that one reads, in his Baja Govindam in Tamil.
