Bharti Televentures Ltd., a joint venture of Bharti Enterprises and Singapore Telecom, has announced that it will go public to mop up $200 million from the Indian or American markets, around March 2001.
Sunil Bharti Mittal, chairman and group managing director of Bharti Enterprises, said the 11,800 km long cable with a capacity to carry 100 million conversations would have a 50:50 participation of Bharti Televentures and SingTel and would be operated by a new subsidiary of Bharti Televentures - Bharti Aquanet.
Bharti Televentures will hold 65 percent equity in the company, while 35 percent will be held by SingTel.
