The Bhutan Broadcasting Service is the national radio and television service in Bhutan.
The first radio broadcasts commenced in November 1973, when the National Youth Association of Bhutan (NYAB) began radio transmissions of news and music for a half-hour each Sunday, under the name "Radio NYAB." The transmitter was first rented from a local telegraph office in Thimphu.
The first night of television broadcasts finally occurred on June 2, 1999, on the night of the Jigme Singye Wangchuk's silver jubilee.

Here in the States, it's impossible to hear Bhutan on the East Coast for their UN broadcast in English, which I believe is at 1430 UTC.
I visited Sheryl Paszkiewicz, a NASWA Log Report editor in 1993 and she showed me a letter from DIRECT from Bhutan.
I don't recall if she received a full-data or no-data QSL or even if it was a QSL; just that the letter was from Bhutan and the envelope had Bhutanese(?) stamps on it.
