A resolution approving the schematic plan for the Active Park located at North Bay Road and 181st Drive was deferred to allow for parking and traffic flow reconfiguration in consideration of a future school the Commission would like to see built in the vicinity of the park.
During discussions regarding the park’s site plan, it was noted that in addition to a playground area and baseball field, an on-site community center has been expanded to include a second floor and a multi-purpose court has been enclosed to create an indoor gymnasium.
The plan also reflects an increase in the community center’s square footage to a total of 8,983 square feet plus restrooms (the enclosed gymnasium will be 8,745 square feet).

Bryan Power, President of the Rowville and Lysterfield Community News and one of its long-time members, local historian and a former editor has retired from his position after 15 years of dedicated service to the paper.
In 2001 when Bryan and Jock went to the UK for an extended holiday, he continued to keep in touch with us committee members from the UK through email and it felt as if he was just around the corner.

Run by a team of volunteers in a new city each year, and with the participants in a space together for three or four days, it has far more to do with making new friends and building a community than milking the "pink pound".
So it's good to create a space where being bi is the norm, and we don't have to explain that part of ourselves to anyone we meet.
"Line Bi Line" is seeking contributions to be displayed during the international bisexual conference BiCon in Manchester this summer, which will then be auctioned to raise funds for the national bi phoneline and related bi community causes.

There is a supporter's rate of £15 if you can afford it to help us with the costs of promoting the magazine and awareness of the bi community, and a super-supporter rate of £25 if you can afford to be that bit more generous.
As a few people have asked we should mention that BCN is mailed in plain envelopes and does not have "This Contains A Bisexual Magazine" in large letters next to the stamp or anything like that.

At the time this article was written, the BASH Peer Education Project was in progress: about 30 bi people from all over the country were being trained to lead safer sex workshops to their peers.
Since then, there's been some productive discussion on the accountability to the community of any BiCon organisers, and there's now a guidelines document on the BiCon web site (hurrah for Alison Rowan, a prime mover and shaker behind this excellent initiative).

Doug Bushee said it is "unfair" that Reston commuters and commercial businesses will have to pay the same higher tolls and taxes as those on the Dulles corridor's eastern end near Tysons Corner yet not reap the benefits of the system until years later.
"Residents and businesses of this community have concerns and they need to be addressed," said Bushee during a debate with Hudgins that will be televised this week on Reston Community Cable Channel 28.
Hudgins said she is sympathetic to the complaints about the toll increase, but said, "While I'd rather not have to have the tolls increased, that's the state's portion" of the construction cost.
