Bibb County, in central Georgia, was formed December 9, 1822, one year after the Creek Indians ceded the last of their land in the area.
Geologically, Bibb County is located on the fall line, where the southern Piedmont meets the Coastal Plain.
Bibb County has four institutions of higher learning: Wesleyan College (founded in 1836 and the world's first chartered college to grant degrees to women), Mercer University, Macon State College, and Central Georgia Technical College.

Bibb County was created by act of the Georgia Legislature on December 9, 1822, with Macon — to be incorporated in December of 1823 — designated the county seat.
Bibb County is currently governed by a five-member County Commission, with four commissioners elected from individual districts in the county and a chairman elected countywide.
The chairman is the chief executive of the county, though the role was reduced from full-time to part-time beginning in 2005, with a chief administrative officer appointed by the commission to run the daily affairs of the government.

I am looking for the parents of Narcissa Garrett, born 1808, supposedly in Jones County, but since it was not established until 1807 she must have been born in one of the parent counties, ie: Bibb, Baldwin or Putnam.
He is not found in the Bibb County, GA census either and that leads me to believe he was born in another county in Georgia.
