Bicester (pronounced "bister") is a town in the Cherwell district of north-eastern Oxfordshire in England, with a population of 28,672 (2001 census).
The ruins of the Roman settlement of Alchester and the remains of an Augustinian priory lie 1.5 miles south-west of Bicester.
Although Bicester is believed to have been established by the west Saxons in the sixth century the first authentic reference to it is in the Norman Domesday Book survey of 1086 when it is recorded as Berencestra, its two manors of Bicester and Wretchwick being held by Robert d'Oily who built Oxford Castle.

Bicester Airfield, formerly RAF Bicester, is an airfield on the outskirts of the English town of Bicester.
Throughout the war RAF Bicester was used as a training centre, becoming home to the 13 Operational Training Unit in June 1943, flying Spitfires and Mosquitos as well as Blenheims.
RAF Bicester ceased to be an active airfield in 1976, and has been used only for gliding and private aviation since.

I was at Bicester O.T.U in July 26th 1944 on Mosquito Conversion, until September 10 1944.
She did visit a Canadian servicemans hospital in the area, so it could be that maybe she visited RAF Bicester when they had social gatherings etc. Any information you could tell me would be greatly appreciated.
I would love to hear from anyone who was stationed at Bicester at that time, as I am currently writing an article for a local book (my Father's home town) 13 Operational Training Unit had a similar crash on 6 December 1941 when a Blenheim crashed just after take off killing all crew members.
