With its shallow Moghul dome mounted on an octagonal drum sloping tiled roofs, European style mandapa, or assembly hall and tall lamp tower or deepastamba, the temple is situated in an archaelogically important area.

Panaji, Oct 14: Cyclonic winds accompanied by thundershowers hit the talukas of Bicholim and Sattari today, causing damage to agricultural, horticultural and houses besides paralysing the traffic.
According to provisional information provided by authorities, a few houses were damaged in Sattari taluka while in Bicholim six houses and the firing shed at Bicholim were damaged, when the cyclonic winds lashed the two neighbouring talukas around 3.30 p.m.
The areas hit by cyclone in Sattari are Keri, Morlem, Honda and Pissurlem, while in Bicholim the cyclonic winds caused damage to two houses in Maulinguem and four in Mayem Haturli.
