Bidaxune (1039 inhabitants) is a quiet medieval little village with a royal history.
Bidaxune (Bidache)has a famous landmark, the ruins of the Grammont Castle (aka Bidaxune Castle), originally a medieval fortress built in 1274 when this historic area controlled the traffic on the Bidouze River.
The Bidaxune stone was used in the construction of castles, bridges and the dams in the Adour River.
