I think the big silver ones are silver carp or bighead carp, I have to catch another one before I can get a good ID on them.
I caught this Sulger Yesterday 9-30-03 In the Milk river in Havre, Montana it was 28 inches long and weighed 8 lbs which is the state record here and most likely in a lot of other states.
The picture was taken on a muddy bar and Bob was nearly up to his knees in it.

 Big Sky Fishing Forum - When does river fishing start again in montana ?
Around Missoula, both the Bitterroot and Rock Creek begin to have excellent fishing during April.
However, during some years spring run off can occur - turning most of the states rivers into a rather muddy mess - which shuts down most of the fishing.
I would like to add that fishing in any open water in Montana is good.

The campground had tight turns and impediments for a big rig, and the "river" that allegedly ran through the campground was bone dry.
The park is big rig friendly and there are lots of big rigs that stay there.
Should mention that we have seen "Big Rigs" at the CG but wouldn't advise most folks to try it.
