	Boroughmuir Rugby Football Club - Edinburgh's Premier Club
		The P5s have followed close on their heels, winning at Biggar and being runners-up at Stew Mel, and the P7s also collected silver-ware at Biggar finishing runners-up.
		With two team representing Edinburgh at both age-groups, and with Edinburgh stretching from Linlithgow to Biggar, having approx 25% of the 4 squads from Boroughmuir is a real credit to the players.
		I would like to start by congratulating all of the young people on their efforts over this season, those that have won games, been successful in their development as rugby players and those who have just commenced their involvement in rugby.

		Biggar stand-off, Quintan Sanft, opted for the kick to goal, favoured by the wind, however his kick went wide of the posts.

		Nicol Smylie’s father was on his way to the game when he was contacted by phone and he kindly doubled back to the club to collect the strips and the game was eventually started 15 minutes late.
		Unbelievably, from the restart Biggar again went into the lead when their No.8 broke from a scrum and with a combination of good passing from the attackers and less than adequate tackling from the defenders, allowed Biggar’s centre to score close to the posts.
		Given the circumstances, both side coped well with the prevailing conditions and the state of the park, and on reflection, a draw was probably a fair result.

		Biggar edged back into the match, their stand-off Quenten Sanft showing Currie that conceding penalties could prove expensive this afternoon.
		Biggar had not given up on this match yet and fought their way back into the Currie 22 probably for the first time since the interval.
		Currie’s defensive play and ability to turn-over ball was strong, but a succession of penalties conceded for offside within our own 22 enabled Biggar to keep the pressure on until replacement Graham Fiskin got over to give Biggar their first try of the match.

		On one of these visits in the mid-fifties lunch had been arranged on the Sunday at Tillietudlen Hotel in the heart of Lanarkshie and imagine the surprise of the players when they arrived to find out the manager of the establishment was George Young of Rangers and Scotland who was in attendance.
		On the journey west on the Saturday morning coffee was served at Biggar and lunch at Carluke, continuing the journey to Old Anniesland in time for the 3 o’clock kick-off.
		The players were amazed at being allowed to play on the main pitch which was simply immaculate and in those days was considered to be the finest ground in Scotland..
