Bigtooth Maple (Acer grandidentatum) is native to interior western U.S., occurring in scattered populations from Idaho to northern Mexico, from Arizona to central Texas, and found growing naturally in Boerne.
The bark of the Bigtooth Maple is very thin on young trees and susceptible to weed-trimmer damage, which can harm or kill the tree; therefore, weeding by hand is recommended around the base of the tree.
