Harvard Gazette: Massacre in Jedwabne re-examined at CES
The speakers were Anna Bikont, a journalist with Gazeta Wyborcza, Poland's leading newspaper, and the author of a new book, "My z Jedwabnego" ("We from Jedwabne"), and Antony Polonsky, the Albert Abramson Professor of Holocaust Studies at Brandeis University who has written extensively on the history of Jews in modern Poland.
Bikont said that after decades of silence on the subject and in the face of persistent Polish anti-Semitism she has been surprised by the willingness of Poles to talk about what happened in Jedwabne and in some cases to offer apologies.
Bikont paid tribute to people whom she described as "heroes of Jedwabne," Poles who opposed the violence or who actively helped Jews to escape.

Nevertheless, there are a few who have decided to reveal their stories; they speak of new details.
According to Przechodzki, the pogrom took place because the Germans allowed it to happen, because the people there were strongly influenced by the right-wing "Endecja" political party, which was very active before the war and because a group of operative people ready for a pogrom kept close to Mayor Karolak.

The simplest involves a single cilium-bearing centriole, nucleating a cone of individual microtubules (probably ancestral for unikonts: animals, fungi, Choanozoa and Amoebozoa).
In contrast, bikonts (plants, chromists and all other protozoa) were ancestrally biciliate with a younger anterior cilium, converted every cell cycle into a dissimilar posterior cilium and multiple ciliary roots of microtubule bands.
Here we show by comparative genomic analysis that this fundamental cellular dichotomy also involves different myosin molecular motors.
