	Bilgeboard
		A bilgeboard is a lifting foil used in a sailboat, which resembles a cross between a centerboard and a leeboard.
		Bilgeboards are mounted between the centerline of the boat and the sides, and are almost always asymmetric foils mounted at an angle to maximize lateral lift while minimizing drag.
		The bilgeboards are angled so that as the boat heels, or leans under the force of the wind, the leeward bilgeboard becomes more upright, and provides the greatest possible force in the desired direction.

		Both bilgeboards are cocked at an outboard angle of 30 degrees so that the leeward board will be perpendicular to the water surface under normal sailing conditions.

		All the information I have read about the centerboard is spacifically geared to the reduction of weather helm.
		Sadly there is practically no information on the internet about the pocket cruiser once it is constructed on problems with the bilgeboard or lack thereof.
		Eventually you will probably have to take the insignificant abmount of information available to you.

		I think the marketing is a litte gimicky, though I suppose they're just trying to recoup their investment and make a little like everyone else.
		I don't see any advantage over the canting keel / bilgeboard combination now used on many open class singlehanders, and I see what could be a disadvantage.
		When surfing downwind I'm more comfortable knowing the center of lateral area is well aft.

		Sail plan for "Argonaut", a Rushton Vesper model, can be found at Mystic Seaport Museum.
		Plans for Snake (essentially an Ellard model) appeared in Forest and Stream in 1885, and plans for Hyla (an unusual bilgeboard model) appeared in The Amateur Sportsman a little later.
		Other plans may have been published in Rushton catalogs over the years.

		I built this skiff from "Aunti Helen" plans from a Motor Boating Ideal series plans book.
		That plan was modified from a single centerboard to bilgeboards - one centerboard on each side, inside the hull - positioned as far out as one can, the forward edge of the bilgeboard case just about touching the chine.
		Molly sails well, and doesn't need much board down to track well.
