Hugo Black - The Bill of Rights
It seems clear that this widespread demand for a Bill of Rights was due to a common fear of political and religious persecution should the national legislative power be left unrestrained as it was in England.
Central all of the Framers of the Bill of Rights was the idea that since government, particularly the national government newly created, is a powerful institution, its officials-all of them-must be compelled to exercise their powers within strictly defined boundaries.
The provisions of the Bill of Rights that safeguard fair legal procedures came about largely to protect the weak and the oppressed from punishment by the strong and the powerful who wanted to stifle the voices of discontent raised in protest against oppression and injustice in public affairs.

When Sam Phillips matched up his new singer with guitarist Scotty Moore and bassist Bill Black, he not only launched the career of the King of Rock, but of one of the most frequently heard, if not one of the best known, figures in instrumental rock and pop, as well.
Black's career with Elvis lasted only a couple years into the singer's RCA era, but as the founder of Bill Black's Combo, he cranked out the instrumental tracks that were the backbone of jukebox stock well into the sixties.
While Black managed to chart with tracks like "Smokie Part 2" and "White Silver Sands," his success depended on a market that was parallel to the one dominated by radio airplay.
