Bill Chase - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bill Chase (born William Edward Chiaiese) (October 20, 1934 - August 9, 1974) was an American trumpet player and leader of a jazz-rock fusion band that bore his name.
Bill Chase was joined by Ted Piercefield, Alan Ware, and Jerry Van Blair, three veteran jazz trumpeters who were also adept at vocals and arranging.
Variety magazine said that Pure Music was "probably Chase's most commercial effort, and their brand of jazz could have a commercial impact." The songs were written by Jim Peterik of the Ides of March, who also sings on the two songs on the album with lyrics, backing up singer and bassist Dartanyan Brown.

Chase (Bill): Reviews, Discography, Audio Clips, and more ||| Music.com
Bill Chase (born William Edward Chiaiese on October 24, 1934) hailed from Boston, Massachussets; the family (which changed its name to "Chase" while Bill Chiaiese was a boy) was musical on both sides, especially his mother's -- one great-uncle had even played trumpet with the New York Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.
Bill Chase took up violin as a boy and later played percussion in the school band, but he found his real musical calling in 11th grade when, for the first time, he started playing the trumpet.
Bill Chase's original notion was that it would be an instrumental outfit, but he later added room for a singer and for vocals in their work, in order to extend their range and their audience appeal.

Chase strongly endorses the Bill's creation of an exclusion from the CEA for derivatives transactions between "eligible contract participants" in "excluded commodities" that are not conducted on a trading facility.
Although Chase would prefer a somewhat broader exemption from the CEA than that contained in the Bill, Chase does not oppose the application to derivatives transactions involving exempt commodities of the anti-fraud and anti-manipulation provisions of the CEA, to the extent those provisions would otherwise be applicable to those transactions.
Chase further believes that it would be beneficial to clarify in the Bill that none of the Bill's exclusions or exemptions create any presumption or implication that an excluded or exempt transaction or a transaction not eligible for an exclusion or exemption is or would otherwise be subject to the CEA or CFTC jurisdiction.
